Mama Sita's Kare-Kare Peanut Sauce Mix is a convenient seasoning blend for preparing Kare-Kare, one of the Philippines' most famous traditional stews.
Made with 61% peanuts, rice flour and achuete (annatto), this mix creates the thick, rich and savoury peanut sauce that gives authentic Kare-Kare its distinctive flavour and colour.
Traditionally prepared with oxtail or beef and vegetables such as eggplant, long beans and bok choy, Kare-Kare can also be made with pork, seafood or vegetables. Serve with bagoong alamang (sautéed shrimp paste) on the side for the classic Filipino combination.
