Mama Sita’s Tocino Mix is a convenient Filipino marinating seasoning for preparing Tocino, the sweet, savoury and beautifully caramelised meat dish that is a favourite Filipino breakfast.
Made primarily with cane sugar and natural achuete (annatto), the mix gives pork or chicken the characteristic sweet flavour and reddish-orange colour associated with traditional Filipino Tocino.
Simply season thinly sliced meat with the mix, marinate, then pan-fry or grill until tender and caramelised. Serve with garlic fried rice and egg to make the classic Filipino breakfast combination known as Tocilog.
One 75g pouch seasons approximately 500g of meat.
