Monika Sautéed Tiny Shrimp, also known as Alamang Guisado, is a traditional Filipino sautéed shrimp paste made with tiny shrimp and seasoned with vinegar, sugar, garlic and other savoury ingredients.
Made with 60% tiny shrimp (Acetes spp.), this ready-to-use bagoong has an intense salty, slightly sweet and deeply umami-rich flavour. Unlike plain salted bagoong alamang, this Guisado version has already been sautéed and seasoned, making it convenient to serve directly as a condiment or use in cooking.
A classic accompaniment to green mango, steamed rice and vegetables, Monika Alamang Guisado is also excellent with Kare-Kare, Binagoongan and other Filipino dishes.
